BikeMaine 2015 Food


When riders register for BikeMaine, they are asked to specify an omnivore or vegetarian diet. At check in on September 12th, riders will be given a bracelet in a color that corresponds to the selected diet. At meals, servers will check a rider’s bracelet to indicate which main dish the rider receives: meat or vegetarian.  All other items on the meal’s menu are offered to everyone.

While we do not offer a certified gluten free menu, we serve a variety of dishes at most meals that are made without gluten (we do not cook in gluten-free facilities, so we cannot guarantee anything is gluten free). If you have a dietary restriction for medical reasons, we are happy to transport food for you. Please let Zach know by September 1st  if you’ll need to have food transported for medical reasons.


BikeMaine 2015 Dinner Menus

KITTERY – Saturday, September 12th

Entrée:

  • Omnivore: Lobster with clams or mussels
  • Vegetarian: Wild mushroom chowder with corn, potato and lots of wild mushrooms

Sides:

  • Corn on the cob, potato and onion
  • Green garden salad
  • Wild and brown rice salad with vegetables

Dessert:

  • Cranberry cake with ice cream

 

OLD ORCHARD BEACH – Sunday, September 13th

Entrée:

  • Omnivore: Pig roast
  • Vegetarian: Pumpkin-chickpea curry

 Sides:

  • Pier fries
  • Quinoa salad with fresh veggies
  • Kale salad with red cabbage, carrots with lemon juice and olive oil dressing
  • Bread or rolls

 Dessert:

  • Polenta pound cake with blueberries and thyme

 

BRIDGTON – Monday, September 14th

Entrée:

  • Omnivore: BBQ chicken
  • Vegetarian: Tofu kabobs

Sides:

  • Roasted vegetables (beets, turnip, carrot, parsnip, garlic, delicata squash)
  • Corn and potatoes on the grill
  • Couscous with roasted onion and pepper salad
  • Fresh garden salad
  • Bread or rolls

 Dessert:

  • Apple crisp with ice cream or whip cream

 

 BETHEL – Wednesday, September 16th

Entrée:

  • Omnivore: Beef and barley stew with potato, carrot and onion
  • Vegetarian: Vegetarian meatloaf

Sides:

  • Green bean, yellow bean and red pepper salad
  • Winter squash salad
  • Garden salad with greens, carrot, cucumber and tomato
  • Bread or rolls

Dessert:

  • Bethel blackberry cheesecake

 

SWEDEN – Thursday, September 17th

Entrée:

  • Omnivore: Meat lasagna
  • Vegetarian: Vegetable lasagna

Sides:

  • Garlic bread
  • Green salad (greens, tomato, cucumber, pepper, carrot)
  • Quinoa and toasted amaranth slaw

Dessert:

  • Brownies and ice cream

 

KENNEBUNK – Friday, September 18th

Entrée:

  • Omnivore: Chicken pot pie
  • Vegetarian: Vegetable pot pie

Sides:

  • Garden salad
  • Roasted beet & chickpea salad
  • Bread

Dessert:

  • Selection of apple, rububarb, squash/pumpkin pies with ice cream
