Jeanne, volunteering at check-in day in Orono on the Inaugural BikeMaine (2013)

Why did you decide to volunteer with BikeMaine?

Four years ago I saw an advertisement for BikeMaine (I have lived in Kennebunk for the last 25 years) and I thought, “that’s going to be a great event!” I wanted to be a part of it.

What volunteer jobs have you done for BikeMaine?

In 2013, I helped out for 3 days. I was on the Tent & Porter team, which meant putting up tents and taking them down everyday. It was FUN!  I’ve been back every year since, volunteering for the FULL week, helping staff the information booth, tent and porter service, meal service and more.

What’s your favorite part about volunteering for BikeMaine?

What’s more fun than working with a great bunch of people on a great event, being surrounded by interesting folks from all over, eating incredible local foods, and learning about new places?? BikeMaine has given me the opportunity to see parts of Maine I had never been.

What advice would you give someone thinking about volunteering for BikeMaine 2016?

Volunteering for BikeMaine will give you a chance to contribute to a very special event, experience a great slice of Maine and bring home wonderful stories.  Volunteers come from around the country and return year after year. C’mon! Join ME! … and bring a friend to volunteer with you!

Join Jeanne and the volunteer team for a single day, multiple days, or the full BikeMaine week!
