Nature Conservancy Talk at Camp Tapawingo

Paul Thomas Hunt has been involved with drinking water protection for more than 20 years, the last 16 as Environmental Manager for the Portland Water District, Maine’s largest water and wastewater utility. Among his responsibilities at the District is the administration of the Watershed Control Program for Sebago Lake, a significant part of which is the efforts to conserve watershed lands in their natural, forested state. Hunt earned geology degrees from public universities in Maine and Oregon and then promptly stopped practicing geology to work on monitoring and protecting water since, he found, the quality of our waters is a more pressing matter for people than whether the deformation of a formation of rocks occurred 230 or 240 million years ago. Hunt lives in Gorham and drinks tap water every day.
